Kindness for Classes
Random Act of Kindness Day aims to make kindness contagious 365 days of the year. Kindness for Classes starts with one class, leadership group or club who will work together for one month to create and execute an act of kindness for another class, in another district. The class or group is eligible to apply for $50 to start up (granted through the Community Foundation) and students are encouraged to fundraise any additional dollars. We understand that it is costly and time consuming to have students deliver their act of kindness to other schools, so the Community Foundation in partnership and My Place and HUG can deliver the act of kindness and take video. When the act of Kindness is delivered a letter will be read to the class stating that they have been RAK’d through Kindness for classes and they are encouraged to pay it forward.
Step 1: Register your class HERE (Once you have been RAK’d)
Step 2: Brainstorm your act of kindness as a group. Be creative and have fun. Make a few phone calls and try to get to know the interests of the other class.
Step 3: Confirm and coordinate your act of kindness with Trish Richard firstname.lastname@example.org
Step 4: Do you require start up dollars? If so, you can apply to us HERE for $50 to get your team started.
You have ONE MONTH, GO.BE.KIND.
The goal with Kindness for Classes is to sustain the momentum that Random Act of Kindness Day had within schools in Southeastern Alberta, engaging at least 10 classes in the first year. This event will run during the school year, starting up again each fall.
